We are very experienced cruisers and in our Active 60s. This ship had the best food (even main dining room) and service of any NCL cruise we have been on (we've been on Lots)!
It seems the cruise industry is going all out Family (with NCL's go carts and Carnival's roller coaster, etc.) On the Encore they had the kids area right in the main deck pool area (not like their other ship layouts)... ...
We chose Norwegian Encore for two reasons: we wanted an Eastern Caribbean itinerary and had to book last minute. The quality of the food and entertainment were great. Probably some of the best food we have had on a cruise anywhere. However, we found several major issues that will keep us from ever booking with Encore again. First and foremost, the pool area is so cramped and small that even ...
The only excellent thing about this cruise was the check in. Very quick and efficient. It was downhill from there.
We are are Platinum Plus cruisers with NCL having cruised twenty times with them over the past 15 years and this was the absolute worst, least relaxing cruise. It has caused us to consider other lines for our next trip.
The ship is a beautiful new boat very large, but much of the ...
Cruise was horrible bad service. Vacation was wasted always waiting in a line for everything. Pool drained and closed 2nd & 3rd days. Also all hot tubs shut down. Shows cancelled after waiting for the show to start. Over 2 hrs to get off ship. Activities not available that were listed. Reservations at Cagneys steak house we were 10 minutes late and refused to serve us. Elevators were so slow ...
The cruise itself was fairly good, but their hidden service fee that was $180 for a 2 1/2 day trip is excessive. They hide it up front, add it to your account bill which you only get at the last minute, and if you don't ask to get it adjusted before you leave the boat they won't refund it or adjust it. $180 amounts to a 15% increase in the cost of a ticket. I'm all for tipping, and would have left ...
Just got back from a 5 day cruise. I have to say I will never go with this cruise line again. The food was absolutely horrible and service was beyond bad. We had a "penthouse" if you want to call it this that was to have a butler. When we got to our room we noticed we needed converters for our phones and computers. No where on the site does it say we needed to bring converters. There was 1 ...
With this being my first cruise and nothing to compare it to, my review will be completely unbiased.
We had a hull balcony room on deck 8, front of ship. You can feel alot here, book mid ship if you can. Our room was a good size, I felt, and the beds and pillows were comfortable.
The food was average to less than average. We did not eat at any specialty restaurants. The Vanietian at the ...
I got this cruise for less than $600 (incl. fare, taxes, port charges, and gratuity--AND premium beverage package) for a solo traveller.
Embarkation and disembarkation were quick and easy.
Inside cabin was perfect; slightly larger than expected.
I've travelled on the Norwegian Jade, and two Carnival ships. I thought the food was not quite as good as any of my previous cruises. The food ...
5 Day cruise for my husband's 50th birthday. Thought we would try NCL because of the cost and dates we wanted to cruise. Itinerary wasn't a concern because we had to been to all the stops except NCL's private island. We have sailed on Carnival, RC, Princesses and Celebrity so we have experienced several different lines.
Arrived at the port a hour later than boarding time and had no issues ...
This was my first ever cruise. I read a ton of reviews leading up to the sail date so I figured I would contribute as well, because I found them helpful!
After reading the reviews, and knowing what we paid, I went onto the trip with the expectation that it was a budget friendly trip. I had no expectations of luxury and my expectations were met. This is not a bad thing! But as a first time ...
