Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

A recent mother daughter holiday was spent cruising at my mothers request. This was my first and after the experience with Norwegian my last. I have experience in the Travel industry and am aware of unavoidable situations that can't be controlled however compound missing half the ports with declining food quality, constant lines and waits for food and beverage, 1 small pool to accommodate ...

Too big and too crowded

Chose the Eastern Caribbean cruise because we have done all the other destinations and really wasn't sure sailing on a ship fopr 4000 passengers was good. Poor choice, this ship cannot accommodate 4000 people comfortably, All public areas were crowded and noisy and did not have ample seats. Bad choice of weeks. We had a bomb scare, an earthquake, a tropical storm and two emergency evacuations that ...

We chose this cruise to experience NCL. The Breakaway is a beautiful ship. Embarkation is very smooth and easy and we were in the ship in no time. Our ocean view cabin, 10102, is very nice. It is located at the very front of the ship. It seems bigger than the usual ocean view cabin. It has a huge window looking out the front of the ship. There is a huge bench right in front of the window ...

We chose to go on the Breakaway so we could get to Tortola to do the Gorda Salt Bath excursion. We’ve sailed on the Breakaway twice before and enjoy the ship layout. Despite missing two ports on the cruise that was unavoidable there were other factors that made me rate this as only a two out of five. We had a “Make Up Room” light out on our stateroom and this caused some delays getting our room ...

Best vacation

My wife and I had the best time ever on a vacation. It was long over due and for a cruise. The restaurants food and service were great. The room was perfect and the room was always clean. The entertainment was always fun and exciting. Laying out by the pool or just hanging out in the atrium was perfect. I just wish we could have had more port stoops as planned, but weather and other things happen. ...

This cruise was like Spring break gone bad. Multiple people who are 1st timers and 20 plus cruises under their belts agreed that this was just an awful awful trip. 2 ports missed. Stinky smokey ship Horrible customer service horrible food unless you did specialty dinings which obviously costs more. Hidden costs every time you turn around. Terrible communication on board, and can't hear the ...

NOT THE RIGHT TIME OF YEAR TO CRUISE

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

This cruise started off strangely, we were assigned cabin 14613, which, when we got there we found was a "handicapped" cabin. It was larger than most inside cabins but there were other differences. For example the mirror in the bathroom was set for a person in a wheelchair. Being 6'3" i had to take the chair from the desk to comb my hair......no big deal. However, this room was 1 deck below the ...

This was out first cruise for our 1 year wedding anniversary and we were looking forward to it for many months. We chose NCL over many other cruise lines for the extras we were getting for "free" turns out free is not free there is always a cost some are just very well hidden. our trouble started when our free airfare had us landing at the airport approx. 1.5 hrs before the ship was to sail ...

Just returned from 7day Eastern Caribbean on the Breakaway. We are Latitudes Gold with 9 additional cruises on other lines. Embarkation: we must have arrived at just the right time (about 1) because we walked right on after presenting our pre-filled documents that made the process smooth, quick and easy. Ship overall: pretty decor, clean, well-maintained. Seemed cramped despite its size, ...

Nothing but problems and disappointment

We decided to try Norwegian Cruise lines, what a mistake. 2 ports cut out of trip. Sit in San Juan for 2 days. Crowded. Poor service at most every restaurant. No updates from the captain except we are not getting to port. Water slides all down for maintenance all week. Pool so small no room to get in. Please don’t waste your money or time. 5 days riding around on a boat that was to small for this ...
