This was out 9th cruise with NCL (40th overall). Other reviews for this cruise were bad and deservedly so. There are some areas where I disagree and I will state them here.
DINING: This was a bit hit and miss. We thought the paid specialty restaurants were excellent with great food and service (we generally ate around 5-5:30). We went to Cagneys (3), Teppanyaki (3), La Cucina (2) and Moderno ...
We chose this trip because of it's itinerary. My wife wanted to see the Eiffel Tower and the Arch of Triumph in Paris, France. Also, she wanted to visit London and see Buckingham Palace. London has so many historical and majestic sites. Big Ben was under renovations.
The House of Commons and Parliment had many protestors for and against Brexit. Westminster Abbey is very beautiful. Buckingham ...
My husband and I got married in the courthouse swearing we would have a wedding eventually! Wellllll 3 years later we decided to use the money we were saving to go on a trip! We chose this journey across the atlantic and we are so happy we did we absolutely loved it! the only small negative is that the water was too rough to pull into ponta del gata so we were at sea for like 7 days straight. Not ...
I chose this cruise for the transatlantic itinerary. We did our first TA last year on a different line and loved it. We tried to book it a year out onboard a different NCL ship but it was sold out. Kept looking online and eventually snagged a guarantee minisuite. After final payment and closer to sailing, the prices dropped and we upgraded ourselves to a Haven spa minisuite. We couldn’t be happier ...
We embarked on a week long cruise with NCL on the beautiful Breakaway last month.
Positives
The ship was beautiful, clean, well appointed and all the public areas were well laid out with adequate seating
The food in the garden cafe (buffet) was lovely. Constantly refreshed and made fresh each time, we never had any problems with this food at all.
The drinks package (as part of free ...
I did a back to back and cruised the Baltic capitals and continued with the transatlantic. The cabins are exceedingly small, the food was only OK, and unless you had hours to spend in the restaurant a lot of the meals were eaten at the buffet. The specialty restaurants were a joke. All they were were overpriced OK restaurants. I will say though, the activity hosts were awesome and they made the ...
We chose this cruise because it ended in New Orleans, right across the lake from our home town of Slidell. We have never been to Europe and thought it would be a good opportunity to see our roots, and loved the idea of a transatlantic crossing.
We flew on our own to Copenhagen two days early, and thank goodness we did because our flights got delayed due to weather and took many more hours ...
As a recommendation from close friends we were convinced that this would be the prefect way to get "out feet wet" with cruising. Our friends had been on many cruises before this and certainly knew the ropes. What we found was endless lines of people for every event ranging from mandatory passport inspections, to dining (even with reservations), to entertainment, to going to our planned ...
I have cruised with NCL on several occasions and always find that it's good value for our money. The ship is spotlessly clean, the crew work very hard to see it's kept that way. The food on this cruise was exceptional, particularly in Cagney's and Teppinyaki. Savor & Taste menus are always varied and very good.
We did have a problem boarding the ship - there was a technical issue which ...
First, read the Danforth family review. No need for me to repeat everything there. It is ALL correct - even a bit mild.
Overall, organization was lacking. Processes were disorganized; we heard the word "cluster" quite a few times.
The biggest surprise (of many) was the churlish attitude of most of the staff. Few smiles, uncaring (even after pouring coffee on my wife's lap!), angry that ...
