This was our first trip to Alaska for my family of 3. Alaska was beautiful - especially Glacier Bay. However, there are several cons for this ship itself. First, there are only two banks of elevators for 4,000+ people. You are constantly waiting for elevators, which are not timed or monitored in any way, so most trips include stopping on every floor whether people have called the elevator or ...
Having cruised to Alaska previously, we joined this cruise for a family event. As mentioned by others, the ship is giant with many activities for all ages. The race track was a definite hit with our crew-and though it was sold out, there were many no shows; so walk ups after the first couple of days was the way to go. The Observation Lounge was stellar - a great set up for viewing as well as ...
My family and I picked this cruise to celebrate my 50th birthday. We had an excellent time. Loved the ship, crew, and ports we visited. Great food and plenty of activities to keep us occupied. Overall it exceeded my expectations. We upgraded our cabin to balcony cabin and it was well worth it. I highly recommend that. There’s incredible views you won’t want to miss at all Hours of the day. We were ...
We have just returned from our first ever cruise - the Alaska itinerary of the Norwegian Bliss. After(!) my family had booked the trip, I read dozens of Cruise Critic reviews that were very helpful, so I want to give back by sharing a few of my own thoughts. We were a group of seven - two kids, four middle aged adults and one 80yo grandmother. Overall, we had a great time and will definitely ...
We were a group of 8 traveling with family which included 3 children (5, 9, 10). We thought it would be fun for them as well as have the opportunity to see Alaska and it's wildlife. Because the ship is so large getting on and off took forever. The elevators were almost always crowded. The food, although there was lots of variety all tasted the same--salty, oily, fattening! Not enough healthy ...
Staterooms were clean but very small in comparison to other ships we've been on. Noise from decks above should not be heard in rooms below in a modern ship. If you book on deck 5, bring your sleeping pills as it will be noisy.
Photography is a big miss on NCL's part. Photos taken at dinner are strong-arm sold on the spot and are not available once you leave the restaurant. There are plenty ...
The ship is relatively new and it seemed like a good choice. I've only been on one other cruise (3 days from Miami to the Bahamas and back) and was not very impressed. In fact I swore I would never go on another cruise. When we started talking about this trip I was a little skeptical. Boy was I wrong! We were a group of 25 and had a blast! My family of four had a cabin with a balcony. It was a lot ...
We had a great time on our Alaskan Cruise aboard the Bliss! The cabin had a balcony (which we used often) and the ship was wonderful. The crew was friendly and efficient. The restaurants had delicious food, and the bartenders were very attentive. We ate at both the complimentary restaurants and three of the specialty restaurants. Our favorite specialty restaurant was Cagney’s. The ...
This was our first cruise and will definitely not be our last! Everything was fantastic! Every staff member thanked us for being there, was welcoming and treated us so well. We ate almost somewhere different every day and could not speak more highly of it, especially Carney’s, Q, and Teppanyaki. The ship was spotless, and our balcony room was spacious in comparison to the things I read prior to ...
The cruise was amazing for the views, service, and ports of call. Just wish the time spent in the ports of call were longer. If you signed up for an excursion, that didn’t give much time, if any, to explore the port towns.
As far as the food, the options were great, as long as you weren’t vegan...I was limited to eating mostly Indian food at the buffet, which I happen to like, but not a lot of ...
