Let me start by saying if I could give a higher rating for the Joy, i would! We are seasoned cruisers with 40+ cruises....Platinum on CCL and RCCL and sailed Princess and Celebrity, so this was our first NCL cruise and we were SO impressed with this ship and it's crew. This is by far the best experience we have ever had. First of all, the ship is beautiful and so clean and spacious. You don't ...
It was our first time on a cruise and decided to go to Alaska. My husband wasn't keen on taking a cruise and ended up pleasantly surprised that he wasn't bored or got cabin fever.
We couldn't go into Endicott Arm and see the glaciers because Mother Nature wouldn't cooperate. Too foggy to safely go in there and out. I respect the Captain's decision on that one. Our highlight was seeing the ...
I just wanted to take a ship to Alaska. The Jewel fit my itinerary and took me there. I had little expectations other than to go from BC to Seward. The meals were absolutely incredible, the service and staff were off the charts, the entertainment was great, the classes were an added bonus, and the itinerary was incredible!
I loved stopping at the Ports and exploring. I was a solo traveler ...
Embarkation was illogical- lines going upstairs, then downstairs to immigration then lines to Border patrol.
Disembarkation was poorly organized in the theater for those traveling to Seward via the Alaskan train. The NCL person was giving out confusing info regarding leaving the theater. People were exiting the ship without any knowledge of the train. Upon disembarking, I turned over my ...
This was our first cruise. We wanted to cruise Alaska and Norwegian offered us that opportunity. The staff on this ship are exceptional hosts. We felt very welcomed and pampered. Honestly we did not know what to expect and were pleasantly surprised. We were on an enormous ship with hundreds of people yet chose our own activities and seemed to always make new acquaintances. We saw two fabulous ...
We elected to go northbound to also do an active land portion on our own afterward. The cruise was FANTASTIC!!! Specialty dining was great (esp. Le Bistro and Cagney's). If you plan to do speciality dining make reservations--especially for the sea days. Shows are at 7:15 and 9:15 so plan accordingly. If you want a peaceful breakfast go to O'Sheehans on level 8. Lots of windows. Same with the ...
We chose this cruise as the itinerary included both Glacier Bay and Hubbard Glacier and I could not recommend it more wholeheartedly, especially if you can fit the cabin we had in your budget. This was a couple's trip and belated 25th anniversary adventure. Our suite really made this cruise sensational, particularly as we were blessed with wonderful weather. We were in cabin 10500, right at the ...
Cabin was good. Food as expected. Room was kept clean with freshtowels. Beds were better than some worse than others. Nice closet space.
Worst main dining room service in 8 cruises. Service was painfully slow. 30-45 mins to get a drink and starter/salad that was straight off the menu.
Go-karts were a ripoff. Stopped my group after 5 laps. Allowed someone to repeatedly block pass ...
I listen to z100 and Elvis Duran being that he’s The Godfather I got really excited about the new ship.
I love the ship. It has beautiful bars, restaurants and lounges. I would suggest having a few bars open later than midnight and more late night food options other than only the local pub. After 12, we sometimes felt that we didn’t have any where to have drinks and talk. There was the social ...
The cabin (balcony stateroom) was roomy, bed was comfortable, tons of storage, clean, beautiful bathroom, and the steward was remarkable.
And that just about sums up the pros.
This was a humongous, obnoxious ship filled with way WAY too many obnoxious people. It felt like a Cancun spring break for the middle-aged. I saw some really shocking behavior, and the cruise line didn't do anything ...
