As a solo traveller, it is very good. Would appreciate a few drawers instead of all the closet space devoted to shelving. The small refrigerator came in very handy, after all of the cans were removed and stored in the hassock at the dresser. Fridge magnets bought along the way will stick nicely to the metal walls (although walls don't look like metal).
My room stewards, Andre and Yoga, were outstanding in keeping my cabin in terrific shape from morning to night. Read entire member review >>
This was our first cruise so was not sure what to expect. Our cabin was very nice. The cabin stewards were great. Everything was very neat with lots of storgae for our things. Loved having a balcony, especially since I tend to get sea sick. Allowed me to get outside for fresh air. Read entire member review >>
Although small, the cabin was very clean and well-designed. It was lovely to have the verandah to sit out on. Also the nights were quiet. The stateroom stewarts, Dodit and Eko were always helpful and thorough. Any request was honoured immediately and not forgotten (such as extra ice every night).
There were a few problems which might be remediable: 1) the inner shower curtain clings to the person showering, 2) the air conditioning blows too strongly over the heads of the sleepers, 3) the internet is sporadic and expensive. Read entire member review >>
We had booked an inside guarantee and were unhappy to receive a main deck assignment, but we are rarely in our cabin anyway, and as it turned out, the cabin was Huge - the largest we have ever had on any of our 16 cruises. On the first night at about 1:30 a.m., we were awakened by a terrible noise which sounded as if it were coming right through the wall of our cabin. We jumped out of bed and once we realized we were not at sea, calmed down quickly and tried to go back to sleep. We had an uneventful night two, but on night 3, the BIG noise returned, once again scaring us out of a deep sleep. Nothing on night 4, but then again same thing on night 5, so we finally decided it was not going to stop and decided to report it the Purser. To our delight, (they had no idea what it was and had a team of engineers looking into it before we even cleared our cabin) they moved us, not just to another inside cabin but to a very nice verandah on deck 4. No obstructed view - smaller than our inside, but lovely. We later learned that 2 other cabins had been relocated. So while the being awakened by a terrifying noise three nights out of 5 was not fun, HAL more than made up for our inconvenience and was very responsive. A special thanks to Michelle at the pursers desk and to our cabin stewards, Sigit and Budi who all gave us outstanding service. Read entire member review >>
Cabin had a few cabinets with worn out hinges but overall had tons of hanging space. It looks a bit old and dated and needs a little updating. The furniture was a little worn. Read entire member review >>
Our Room - (VD 6030) The stateroom was immaculate, lots of closets and great storage. Nice size bathroom with a tub. Hotel like soaps/shampoos & hair dryer. I think the room was about 270 Sq Ft. Bed very comfy, nice linens. Turn down service. Sofa to watch the shoreline go by. Glass patio front so we could see the ocean. Two chairs and table on the deck. The room was quiet the black out curtains helped with the 4:30 A.M. sunrises. Lots of videos and some TV (not important to us). We brought our IPad with music. ****Glad we brought binoculars and a small bungie cord so we could keep the door open. As we we did not have to run a/c in the room. Read entire member review >>
Cabin was as per our expectations. Lots of storage, a nice balcony, and a very comfortable bed as were the pillows. The cabin stewards, Rudi & Lee, were excellent and accommodating. The TV screen was small (14"+/-) and could have been larger as the 4 movies shown each day were well selected. Not that couldn't choose from a large selections from the CD catalogue (free!). This is not to say we watched a lot of TV, but for what we did watch, the TV could have been larger.
Liked the cabin location as it was 3 stair flight up or down to the major decks. We were 3 doors away from the elevator/stair lobby. PS: Ships usually dock on the starboard (right) side, so we had visual access to the activities when the ship is docking and in port. Read entire member review >>
Great closets with lots of space, storage for three very LARGE bags under bed. And drawers for clothes everywhere - under the bed, in the side tables and under the couch. We had WAY TOO much stuff and we were able to store it all away. A fourth large bag may have presented a challenge though. Read entire member review >>
Although the cabin is close to the elevators, this was a plus. We were expecting to hear the noise from the elevators at all hours, but we heard nothing!! The closets are small, but adequate, and the balcony was very nice. Read entire member review >>
