Carnival Fantasy Receives Overhaul

September 15, 2003
Carnival’s 70,000-ton, 2,056-passenger Fantasy is currently undergoing a major overhaul during the ship’s scheduled five-week dry dock at Freeport Shipyards, in the Bahamas.

Improvements include the design of a new lobby bar – complete with raised stage to accommodate a classical music trio – and a renovation of Via Marina, an enclosed double-width promenade. Its facelift will include new furnishings and a decorative marble floor. Windows on the Sea, the ship’s poolside restaurant, will receive additional food stations and fresh décor.

Staterooms on Fantasy will also receive an upgrade, with new wall coverings, furniture and linens. In-cabin bathrooms are also getting an updated touch, with new tile flooring and vanities. Other areas receiving a cosmetic re-freshening include Cleopatra's Bar, Electricity Dance Club, Cats Lounge, and the Celebration and Jubilee dining rooms.

Carnival Fantasy, which was launched in 1990, sails three- and four-day Bahamas itineraries out of its year-round home port in Port Canaveral.
