Cruise Passenger Arrested for Sexual Assault
A 28-year old male passenger on Royal Caribbean's Vision of the Seas, which is sailing in Alaska this summer, was arrested in Skagway after being charged with sexually assaulting a 22-year old woman while the ship was about 15 miles out of Glacier Bay. The passenger was then transported to Juneau, where he is being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond. He was arraigned on a felony charge of first-degree sexual assault.

A preliminary hearing will be held today in Juneau. A spokesman for Royal Caribbean noted that the cruise line, in accordance with its zero-tolerance policies, immediately reported the crime to authorities and has cooperated fully with authorities.
