SARS Fades From Cruise View

July 18, 2003
SARS has officially faded from the world of cruising. The International Council of Cruise Lines, which had issued guidelines to member cruise lines on procedures and rules regarding passengers who had traveled from SARS-impacted countries, officially said this week that “the SARS virus appears to be presently contained.” The statement also said “with support from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Health Canada and the World Health Organization, the members of the International Council of Cruise Lines (ICCL) have agreed that our guidelines regarding the screening and monitoring for SARS are no longer necessary.”
