| Princess Shakes Up Alaska |
Beginning next May, Princess Cruises is shaking up its "Gulf of Alaska" sailings by replacing Seward with Whittier as a port of embarkation and debarkation. Whittier has agreed to build a new cruise dock and terminal.
The new facility is designed specially for cruise travelers, and includes key details such as plenty of room for motorcoaches and a pleasant waiting area, complete-with-view. Another major factor that helped Princess decide to switch from Seward was a relatively newly constructed tunnel for cars that eases the 65 mile journey to Anchorage.
Princess is slated to offer 72 different sailings between Vancouver and Whittier next year. Passengers can choose from four ships: Coral Princess, Island Princess, Sun Princess and Dawn Princess. | |
