Carnival Accepts Glory
In this season-of-many-christenings (and deliveries), Carnival Cruise Line is the latest to claim its newest ship. The 110,000-ton, 2,974-passenger Carnival Glory, the fleet's 19th vessel, was officially handed over at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy. Now on its way to its Port Canaveral homeport via a 12-day transatlantic sailing, Carnival Glory will receive its ceremonial name from astronaut Dr. Sally Ride on July 14. The ship's first passenger cruise from Port Canaveral departs July 19.

Carnival Glory will sail weeklong Caribbean itineraries, alternating between east and west.
