Island Princess Annoints Christening Celebrities
In a choice befitting the locale, Island Princess, which announced last week it would host its christening ceremony in Vancouver -- a first time for that Western Canadian city -- has picked Olympic gold medal figure skaters Jamie Sale and David Pelletier to officially inaugurate the ship.

The Canadian pair skaters will perform the deed on July 11. Vancouver was chosen as the locale for the inauguration ceremony in part because of Princess Cruises' long relationship with the city -- it has sailed from there for 34 years.

Other highlights of the Vancouver celebration will include a menu created to showcase local ingredients, entertainment by the Dal Richards Orchestra, and use of sparkling wine for the celebration (and beyond) that comes from Canada's award-winning Summerhill Pyramid Winery.
