More Norway Voyages Canceled

May 30, 2003
Norwegian Cruise Line announced this afternoon that it has now canceled the June 15 and June 22 sailings of the S/S Norway. The ship is currently undergoing investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board after a tragic boiler explosion occurred on Sunday. NCL had already canceled the Norway’s June 1 and 8 cruises (not to mention the voyage slated to depart on Sunday, May 25). NCL is offering passengers full refunds (though no credit toward future cruise was mentioned) and asks that those with questions contact their travel agent or call 1-800-327-7030.

At this point, seven crew members have died as a result of the accident. Nine remain hospitalized.
