Book Shore Excursions Online
Tired of queuing up in a long line waiting to hear whether the shore excursion you want is still available? Port Promotions (www.portpromotions.com), a Plantation, Florida-based independent tour company, is offering Alaskan cruisers a new option. Individuals can now pre-book -- online -- that Tingit tribal show in Sitka, the seaplane ride over the misty fjords of Ketchikan, or the Juneau city tour.

Currently, the company is only offering the option for Alaskan cruises (typically it arranges independent -- i.e. not affiliated with cruise line’s own tours -- group shore excursions in the Caribbean and Europe but a minimum number of participants is needed to pre-book).

Not only is Port Promotions online booking service (you can also call and reserve by phone) a way to ensure you get that special tour they also cost 10 - 20 percent less. And you can cancel and receive a full refund provided you do so at least 24 hours ahead of time. The process is easy; you fill out a form, specifying cruise ship, line and departure date (along with that all important credit card number) and the company does the rest. Confirmations and tour tickets can be sent via email for those signing up at the relative last minute or by mail.
