| Update on Cunard's "Other" New Build |
Cunard's "other" new build -- the heretofore unnamed 85,000-ton ship due out
in 2005 -- has received its moniker: Queen Victoria. The ship, currently
under construction at Fincantieri in Italy, will sail Southampton-based
itineraries to all parts of Europe. It will also offer the Caribbean.
Highlights of the Queen Victoria, which is a little over half-the-size of
Queen Mary 2, Cunard's other new ship, include a covered wrap-around
promenade deck, a forward-facing observation lounge, and a large Lido pool
with a retractable dome. Like QE2 and QM2, this vessel will have a Queens
Grill offering single-seating gourmet dining. 67 percent of staterooms will
have balconies. | |
