Carnival Names New Ship Liberty

March 13, 2003
A sign of the times? Carnival has named the fourth Conquest-class ship and it rhymes with the times. Carnival Liberty, a 2,974-passenger vessel, has not yet begun construction and details, aside from the usual Conquest-class features, are slim -- no homeport or itineraries as yet -- but then again it's not even slated to debut until 2005.

Other Carnival newbuilds that will launch prior to 2005 include Carnival Glory, which will begin sailing year-round weekly Caribbean itineraries out of Port Canaveral on July 19 and Carnival Valor (no itineraries have been announced) which debuts in fall 2004.
