(9:50 a.m. EDT) -- Scenic's first ocean-going cruise ship, Scenic Eclipse, will feature 10 dining experiences, eight bars and lounges, two pools, and a large spa. The ship, which the line is calling a Discovery Yacht, is scheduled to launch in the Mediterranean on August 31, 2018.

The mega yacht, which will carry 228 passengers (200 in the Arctic and Antarctica), will feature 10 dining venues ranging from Italian, French and Asian fusion to steaks, seafood and a poolside grill, as well as 24/7 room service. The ship will also feature a Chef's Table, as well as a venue called Epicure, which Scenic describes as a "chef-led dedicated cooking emporium."

Also onboard will be eight bars and lounges including the small Champagne Bar, Lobby Lounge and the Azure Bar & Cafe. Specialty tea will be served in the Observatory and every suite has an included mini-bar that is refreshed daily. Speaking of suites, Eclipse will feature 114 spacious suites, each with balcony and lounge space. Sizes will range from the 345-square-foot Verandah Suites to the 2,659-square-foot, two-bedroom Penthouse Suite.

Also onboard will be the 5,900-square-foot Spa Sanctuary with plunge pool, hair salon and treatment rooms. Two pools will be available, a heated indoor one and an outdoor pool.

Scenic Eclipse, whose design falls somewhere between that of a traditional yacht and an expedition vessel, will have an ice rating of 1A (Polar Class 6), meaning it can more easily navigate Arctic and Antarctic waters. Among its most unique onboard features include the previously announced seven-seat onboard helicopters and seven-seat submarine, capable of diving to depths of 200 meters. It will sail all over the globe including Europe, the Americas, the Arctic and Antarctica.
