A Norwalk-like virus strain -- thought to be pretty much wiped out after the last fall/early winter epidemic that plagued cruise ships, has re-occured aboard Sun Princess. The ship, which was sailing a 15-day Los Angeles -to- Hawaii itinerary, reports that 229 passengers and 26 crew members went to the infirmary with (the usual) symptoms. Staffers onboard asked ill passengers to remain in cabins and use room service while Princess picked up the tab for bottled water and free medical care. That voyage docked Saturday in Honolulu. Princess had a mobile sanitation squad waiting at the dock and the ship departed, on scheduled, later that day on its planned Hawaii-Los Angeles itinerary.
