(9:55 a.m. EST) -- Carnival Cruise Line is expanding its lineup of longer-length Carnival Journeys sailings with a two-week Alaska trip on Carnival Splendor. The cruise will kick off August 25, 2018 roundtrip from Long Beach, and visit seven Alaskan and Canadian ports including Icy Strait Point, Hubbard Glacier Ketchikan, Skagway, Juneau and Sitka.
As with all Carnival Journeys sailings, the Alaska cruise will feature onboard enrichment geared to the destination. For Alaska, this will include opportunities to enjoy local cuisine and entertainment. Other activities might focus on photography or arts and crafts. The popular 1980s-themed "Throwback Sea Day" will be offered, as well.
A wide variety of shore excursions will also be offered to help passengers experience Alaska in a variety of ways, from helicopter flightseeing and rainforest canopy hikes to hiking, alpine lake snorkeling, canoeing and kayaking.
Carnival Splendor's cruise will be the line's second Alaska Carnival Journeys itinerary; Carnival Miracle will spend two weeks in Alaska September 2017.
