America's first family -- well, many of them anyway -- have embarked on a 3-night post-Christmas cruise on Disney's Wonder. Led by former President George Bush, son Jeb, current governor of Florida, and other family members
(including, reportedly, first daughters Jenna and Barbara), they sailed out of Port Canaveral last night. President George W. Bush and wife Laura are not among the ship's 2,500 passengers, however.
The ship will sail to the Bahamas and to Castaway Cay, Disney's private island, before returning to Port Canaveral Sunday morning. It has been said that the extended family plans to engage in "normal" activities (i.e. sitting in the main dining rooms as opposed to requesting a private one).
Members of the Bush family are paying for their cruises; the federal and state governments are, however, picking up the tab for security detail.
