Look for the easily spread Norwalk Virus to badger more passengers than
those on Holland America's Amsterdam: now, Disney is reporting that 100 passengers may have contracted the gastrointestinal illness aboard Disney Magic. The ship, which departed last Saturday from Port Canaveral on a Caribbean itinerary, is diligently being super-cleaned as it sails and the company says there are no plans at this point to cancel future voyages.
Rumors are spreading like wildfire about outbreaks on other cruise lines
as well but at this point nothing else significant has been confirmed. The
illness is not limited to cruise ships, it must be noted, though the
contained nature of a vessel does inspire it to spread more easily.
