| Prinsendam Cancels 2003 Exotic Europe/Asia |
| Rumors, it appears, are true about Prinsendam, despite a communications muddle over at Holland America -- we still haven't received official confirmation -- and the ship indeed will abandon its plans to cruise more exotic itineraries in Europe and Asia next year. Holland America, according to various reports, has replaced 11 sailings, occurring between April 25 - September 20, with two-week-long Alaskan voyages. The ship will homeport at that time in San Francisco, which is becoming the "hot new" home-base for longer-than-a-week Alaska trips. 14-day Alaska itineraries are fairly uncommon -- the appeal of this trip could well be its visits to less obvious ports-of-call, though the company has yet to identify the sailing schedule. | |
