More bad news from Holland America regarding Statendam. Repairs to the ship, which suffered from a fire in the electrical generation system last Sunday, will not be completed in time for the August 11 cruise so that voyage has now been canceled. Holland America now reports that it's aiming to begin sailing again on August 18, out of Vancouver. The line's compensation for these newly impacted passengers its consistent with what was offered to those others affected with a relatively chintzy full refund and 25 percent off a future cruise or no refund and 150 percent off another trip.
