Speaking of new Caribbean sightseeing options (following yesterday’s report on St. Kitt’s new train tour), Princess Cruises is offering what it calls the “first fully accessible tour” in St. Thomas. The shore excursion, geared to passengers with limited mobility, has passengers board a specially-outfitted trolley for a two hour tour of the island’s hot spots, historic attractions and scenic look-out points. First tested on Grand Princess sailings, the trolley tour will be expanded to other Princess ships -- Golden, Sea and Dawn -- calling at St. Thomas later in the year, as the Caribbean season gets underway.
The line is working to develop tours at other Caribbean ports of call and says it may also expand facilities to assist passengers with other disabilities, such as hearing-impaired.
