(4 p.m. EDT) -- River line AmaWaterways will welcome two new ships to its fleet in the spring of 2015 when AmaSerena and AmaVista take to the Danube, Main and Rhine.
Both 164-passenger vessels will offer connecting staterooms, which is a first for the line. Most cabins will also include "twin balconies," which means passengers booked in those rooms will have access to a French balcony with a floor-to-ceiling sliding-glass door, as well as an actual walk-out balcony with room to seat two.
Additionally, the new duo will include heated outdoor pools with swim-up bars -- features that are relatively new to river cruising.
With regard to itineraries, AmaSerena will sail seven-night Rhine voyages between Amsterdam and Basel, and two themed sailings will also be offered, one focusing on Jewish heritage and the other on wine.
Meanwhile, AmaVista will sail seven- to 14-night cruises that highlight cities like Amsterdam, Cologne, Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest, as well as tulips along the Dutch and Belgian waterways.
