(3:17 p.m. EDT) – Crystal Cruises is introducing a series of shore excursions specifically designed for passengers who like to sleep in. The special Crystal Adventures will debut this fall and will depart between 11 a.m. and noon, rather than 9 a.m. or earlier, as has been traditionally the case.
"There are so many distinctly different types of travelers, each with their own idea of the perfect vacation," Crystal Cruises president Edie Rodriguez said. "For many, this involves plenty of rest and relaxation."
Examples of the Late-Riser Adventures are: a tour of Oporto, Portugal including a visit to the Cathedral of Oporto and the 19th century Stock Exchange Palace; a comprehensive Amsterdam visit that includes a canal tour, the Anne Frank House and the Van Gogh Museum; and a Boston tour with stops at Navy Yard, Boston Common, the Freedom Trail and the pre-Revolutionary Old State House.
The Late-Risers Adventures will be offered beginning with Crystal Serenity's September 19 Boston to Quebec sailing, and on Crystal Symphony's September 27 Hamburg to Lisbon sailing. They will be available on select Crystal itineraries only.
