Celebrity Eclipse Cruise Ship to Undergo Major Refurbishment
Celebrity Cruises' Celebrity Eclipse Cruise Ship

(11:30 a.m. EDT) -- Celebrity Cruises' UK-based ship Celebrity Eclipse will undergo a major refurbishment next April, with a number of new features including a new dining venue, according to a report in Travel Weekly.

The ship's Cellar Masters wine bar will become the Gastrobar -- currently only on Celebrity Equinox -- and will serve more than 40 craft beers, with passengers ordering their food and drink on iPads, as in the ship's restaurant Qsine.

The pool area will have a new frozen drink bar called Slush; the American-style casino will become more "British" with 12 new British-themed slot machines, and American-style roulette wheels will replace European-style ones. Eclipse will also have a private photo studio.

The refurbishment will coincide with the launch of the line's new Suite Class offering which includes a dedicated restaurant, VIP lounge, and complimentary benefits such as premium beverages, dining at any speciality restaurant and unlimited internet access.

The ship will return to its homeport of Southampton on May 9, 2015 offering seven to 15 night sailings to the Mediterranean and the Baltic.
