Princess Cruises to Add Third Royal-Class Cruise Ship

(12:17 p.m. EDT) -- Princess Cruises has ordered a third Royal-class cruise ship from the Fincantieri shipyard for delivery in 2017. The 143,000-ton ship will carry 3,560 passengers.

Part of the Royal-class of ships that includes Royal Princess and Regal Princess, the as-yet-unnamed vessel will feature several signature Princess elements including a central atrium hub with multiple dining, entertainment and retail venues; the adults-only Sanctuary; Movies Under the Stars; and 80 percent balcony staterooms. New innovations will be introduced as well, though Princess has yet to reveal anything.

The ship will cost approximately 600 million euros.
