(3:50 p.m. EDT) -- American Cruise Lines tested its new Mississippi paddlewheeler for the first time earlier this week. The launch, which took place on the Wicomico River, went smoothly, reported Cruise Industry News.
Following the test launch, tugboats helped maneuver the riverboat back into the shipyard where the upper decks will be installed and furnishings completed.
The still-unnamed paddlewheeler is being built at Chesapeake Shipbuilding in Salisbury, Maryland, and will be delivered to American Cruise Lines in 2015. Two more paddlewheelers will be built, as well.
