Azamara Cancels Cruise Sailing Due to Propeller Damage

Update, 2:27 p.m. EST: Azamara Club Cruses will provide each passenger with a full refund of the cruise fare paid, as well a a future cruise certificate for 75 percent of the cruise fare paid.

Azamara Journey (1:13 p.m. EST) -- Azamara Club Cruises has cancelled the next sailing of Azamara Journey in order to repair the damage to one of the ship's two propellers.

"We do not take any decisions that impact our guests' vacations lightly and are deeply sorry that this unexpected development has affected those guests' upcoming vacation," the line posted on its website.

The ship was scheduled to depart Shanghai on March 3.

The propeller damage has already forced the line to cut short the ship's current voyage.

Azamara Journey will resume its regular schedule on March 17 with a 17-night sailing out of Hong Kong.
