Princess Adds Hawaii in 2003
As Princess’ 2003 - 2004 cruise season announcements continue to trickle forth, the company reveals another “new” route (yesterday’s was the line’s first foray into Antarctica): a series of roundtrip Hawaiian itineraries out of Los Angeles. Regal Princess will offer 15-day voyages where ports of call include Hilo, Kona, Honolulu, Kauai and Maui.

The biggest appeal of Regal Princess’ series of seven roundtrips (between November 2003 and March 2004) is that the itinerary avoids the oft-inconvenient split air (usually passengers cruising Hawaii sail between Honolulu and either Ensenada, San Diego or Vancouver) scenario. However, the long, long trek across the Pacific -- lots of sea days for true aficionados -- still places the cruise out of the reach of the younger passengers that Norwegian Cruise Line is courting with its industry-only seven day roundtrip Honolulu sailings.
