The application, which can be used on cell phones (both Apple and Android) and tablets, must be downloaded before passengers get on their cruises. Once onboard, they need only connect to the ship's Wi-Fi, register and then launch the app. Once launched, passengers can call and text any other mobile device on the ship that also has the application open.
The app also can be used to contact a cabin, one of the ship's restaurants, spa desk, shore excursion office and other onboard services.
Costa is only the second cruise line to offer such an application for its passengers. Norwegian Cruise Line's iConcierge app is available to passengers onboard its three newest ships.
