P&O Cruises Cancels Arcadia Sailing Due to Storm
Celebrity Century (12:00 p.m. EST) -- P&O Cruises has cancelled a two-night cruise on Arcadia due to strong storms in Northern Europe.

The storms have delayed the refurbishment of the ship, which has been in dry dock in Bremerhaven, Germany since the end of November.

The ship was due to sail from Southampton to Zeebrugge, this Sunday (December 15). Its next cruise from Southampton to Madeira on December 21, is not affected.

P&O announced the cancellation on its Facebook page with the following statement:

“Unfortunately due to strong storms in Northern Europe Arcadia has been delayed in leaving her refurbishment in Germany. As a result, we have had to take the difficult decision to cancel the two night cruise departing on Sunday. We are currently contacting all of our customers by email or phone to advise them of the cancellation. Everyone booked will be getting a full refund and a future cruise credit. There are also options for passengers to move to any other two night cruise next year.”

P&O has apologized to all passengers concerned and given out the following number -- 0843 374 0012 -- to discuss alternative options.

The adults-only Arcadia has been in dry dock since November 26, having a number of additional features added, including a new Atul Kochar restaurant.
