New Caribbean Home for Thomson Cruise Ship; Masterchef-Style Competition Launched
Thomson Dream (12:30 p.m. EST) -- Thomson Cruises will base Thomson Dream in Montego Bay, Jamaica, from November 2014.

Thomson Dream will be the only cruise ship based in Montego Bay and will offer five new itineraries, sailing from 23rd December 2014.

The itineraries will include ports such as Playa del Carmen, on the Mexican Riviera; Havana, Cuba; and Roatan in Honduras. Other destinations include Belize City in Belize and Colon and San Blas, both in Panama.

Yesterday, Thomson announced new Mediterranean itineraries, as well as a new port -– Porto -- and new brochures with "augmented reality" technology.

The line has also launched a Masterchef-style competition, which will see the winners' creations served onboard Thomson Dream.

The cruise line is encouraging budding Gordon Ramsays and Jamie Olivers to come up with a three-course dinner fit for the a la carte restaurant, the Grill, onboard the ship.

The three winners -- who will be chosen by an expert panel that includes well-known blogger Captain Greybeard -– will then be invited onboard Thomson Celebration for a weeklong cruise where they'll take part in a culinary face-off.

The overall winner will then be invited onto a Caribbean cruise on Thomson Dream, and the winning menu will feature in the restaurant.
