High Winds Alter Cruise Ship's Schedule in New Zealand
Update: 5:55 a.m. EDT -- A Princess Cruises spokeswoman confirmed to Cruise Critic that Sea Princess missed a scheduled port call in Napier, New Zealand yesterday (Oct. 14), and said the ship was scheduled to arrive in Wellington this morning at 8 a.m., local time.

Further schedule changes are as follows:
  • 16 Oct -- Akaroa
  • 17 Oct -- Picton
  • 18 Oct -- At Sea
  • 19 Oct -- At Sea
  • 20 Oct -- Sydney

  • (6:30 a.m. EDT, October 14, 2013) -- The bad weather that has caused widespread power outages and damage and cancelled scores of flights in New Zealand has set back the schedule for Princess Cruises' ship Sea Princess.

Sea Princess was due into port this morning (Oct. 14) in Wellington, New Zealand, but the ship is now due to arrive tomorrow (Oct. 15), according to news website stuff.co.nz.

The New Zealand Herald has also reported a further delay at the ship's next port of call, Akaroa, saying tomorrow's scheduled arrival has been delayed until 6 a.m. Wednesday (Oct. 16).

Cruise Critic has contacted Princess Cruises for a statement and will update this story with any information we receive. Sea Princess departed Sydney, Australia, on October 7, for a 13-night round-New Zealand cruise.
