| Cunard Line Update |
| Cunard’s announcement this week that storied QE2 will no longer make transatlantic crossings -- as of April 2004 -- is no surprise (the new 150,000-ton Queen Mary 2, currently under construction, has long been pinpointed to take over the route) but at least it ends speculation about the circa-1967 ocean liner’s future. Once Queen Mary 2 is launched, QE2 will maintain a home port in Southampton, from which it will sail mostly Europe-based itineraries. QE2 will continue to sail the annual “World Cruise.” | |
