Celebrity indeed, as promised, launched Constellation this weekend. The ship, which was forced to cancel its first cruise due to mechanical difficulties discovered during sea trials, launched from Barcelona yesterday on its maiden voyage. Part of Celebrity’s Millennium-class, Constellation strictly follows the design tradition of its earlier siblings (there are no outrageous new features). Constellation will spend the summer in Europe, sailing a series of seven-night Western Mediterranean cruises from Barcelona, 14-night Baltic sailings from Dover, England, and a series of 10- and 11-night Western Mediterranean cruises from Barcelona. This fall, the ship will head to the Caribbean where it will call San Juan home while it sails seven-night Southern Caribbean itineraries.
