Norwegian Cruise Line Ups Specialty Restaurant Fee

(2:34 p.m. EDT) -- After just one revenue sailing of its brand new ship Norwegian Breakaway, Norwegian Cruise Line has upped the cover charge at the Geoffrey Zakarian high-end eatery Ocean Blue from $35 to $49.

Cruise Critic learned of the increase from a post written by CC member sebas030. Norwegian confirmed the increase, which went into effect May 19.

"Current reservations will be honored at the $35.00 rate," said Vanessa Lane, Norwegian's manager of public relations and events.

The price increase came less than two weeks after the line's CEO and president Kevin Sheehan told reporters at a press conference that he thought they were undercharging for the restaurant.
