Crystal Cruises to Nix Indoor Smoking in 2014
No-Smoking (4:20 p.m. EDT) -- Crystal Cruises has announced the elimination of smoking from all indoor areas on Crystal ships, excluding the Connoisseur Club smoking lounge, effective 2014. The policy, which begins with the January 5 voyage of Crystal Serenity and the January 8 voyage of Crystal Symphony, will eliminate smoking in all cabins and suites, the Crystal Cove lobby lounge and Pulse and Luxe nightclubs.

Outside smoking will be allowed in a limited number of designated spaces.

"We have received considerable feedback and we listened," Gregg Michel, president of Crystal Cruises, said. "The majority of our guests worldwide are nonsmoking, and travelers are used to more nonsmoking environments today."

Just this year, Crystal eliminated smoking in its Avenue Saloon and Casino.
