Chenoweth was chosen, Royal Caribbean said, for "her effervescent personality and ability to wow audiences," as well as her versatility as a performer – a trait the cruise line says Quantum of the Seas will share. It doesn't hurt that Chenoweth also is a Tony-award winning actress, as Royal Caribbean is known for its onboard full-scale Broadway productions including Saturday Night Fever, Hairspray and Chicago. The godmother announcement is one of the few "official" reveals Royal Caribbean has offered regarding its new ship, scheduled to debut in 2014.
But Cruise Critic has unearthed a few tidbits, as well. For instance, the port of St. Maarten revealed that the 4,100-passenger ship will begin visiting December 2014. And leaked shipyard photos from U.K. cruise blogger Malcolm Oliver revealed the first images of the ship's shape.
