High Winds Affect Cruise Ships Near Key West
(12:20 p.m. EST) -- A Celebrity cruise ship was stuck in Key West, while a Carnival ship skipped the port entirely due to high winds.

Passengers on Celebrity Constellation were stuck in Key West overnight from December 21 to December 22 after high winds prevented the ship from departing. Because of the delay, the ship will no longer be able to call on Cozumel today as originally scheduled.

According to a spokesperson for Celebrity, the ship finally left Key West around 8 a.m. this morning and will remain at sea before calling on Nassau, Bahamas, tomorrow, December 23.

The high winds also affected passengers on Carnival Destiny, which skipped Key West altogether December 21 and instead stayed at sea. The ship will arrive in Cozumel today ahead of schedule.
