(6 p.m. EDT) -- A cruise passenger swimming off the coast of Grand Bahama island drowned on Sunday, according to The Eleutheran, a local Bahamas newspaper. The story says a 61-year-old woman was with a family member and other cruise passengers when she first complained of difficulty breathing.
Police were notified shortly after noon, and assistance was given. She was taken by ambulance to the Rand Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Officers at the Central Detective Unit in Grand Bahama are continuing their investigation into the incident.
