| NCL Star Alters Itinerary |
Norwegian Cruise Line continues to tweak the schedule of Norwegian Star. That ship, which only recently launched, is offering cruisedom's only regular Hawaii-based itineraries. One problem in these early days has been rough seas; the shiphas missed a number of ports-of-call due to rough seas that have impaired ability to run tenders to shore. As a result, one change has been announced: the ship’s regular call at Lahaina, on Maui, will be replaced with Kahului, also on Maui, through May 3.
The change, according to the announcement, is a temporary one; NCL is awaiting additional shore side tender support which it anticipates will be available in late spring.
The itinerary alternation does not, for the most part, impact sightseeing on Lahaina; shore excursions will continue as planned and NCL plans to offer free shuttle bus service from Kahului to Lahaina for independent explorers.
