Strictly Goes to Sea with P&O Cruises

(11:00 a.m. EST) -- "Strictly Come Dancing" may no longer be brightening our screens on Saturday nights, but a little of its glitter will be sprinkled on P&O Cruises' Oriana next summer as the show goes to sea.

Sharp-tongued Craig Revel-Horwood, famed as being the toughest of the Strictly judges, will be joining two cruises on May 28 and July 14 to the Canaries and the Norwegian fjords, respectively. With him will be some of the stars from the hit show, though the identities of the dancers is yet to be revealed.

Passengers on each cruise will be offered lessons from the show's professionals in jive, foxtrot, rumba, quickstep and a selection of other dances. Additionally, for dancers and wallflowers alike there will be professional dance demonstrations providing plenty of chances to admire the intricately spangled costumes from the BBC show.

Ballroom dancing and cruising do, of course, have a natural affinity. Thomson Cruises ran a very successful Strictly-themed dance competition on Island Escape last year, hosted by Darren Bennett and Lilia Kopylova, both former champions of the show. The line hasn't, however, announced plans for a repeat performance.
