Queen Mary 2 Gets a Refit
(3:30 p.m. EDT) -- Cunard has announced plans for a refurb of Queen Mary 2, its flagship vessel.

Taking place over a 14-day time frame, the upgrades will be completed just in time for the ship's eighth birthday in January.

The Golden Lion Pub will undergo the most significant renovations, which will give the venue more of an American country club feel, with warm colors, plush seating and new televisions.

Additionally, staterooms will receive new carpeting and bedding, and some will even get new furniture, while new carpet designs and furnishings are in store for most public areas, including Queens Grill, Princess Grill, Commodore Club, the Veuve Clicquot Champagne Bar and Sir Samuel's.

QM2 is slated to enter dry dock in Hamburg on November 24 and return to service on December 8.

The line says several new onboard features will be added, and details will be released soon. We'll keep you updated.
