Docked In Southampton During the Royal Wedding? Cruise Passengers Can Join the Festivities
Will-Kate-Royal-Wedding-Festivities
(3:30 p.m. EDT) -- There are certainly plenty of options for watching Friday's royal wedding while onboard a cruise ship, but there are also a few ways for the thousands of cruisers who will be docked in Southampton during the festivities to get in on the action. Ships in port that day include Ventura, Independence of the Seas, Saga Pearl II and Vision of the Seas.

CruiseSouthampton.com has created a special guide -- including a list of hotel bars and lounges that will broadcast the event live on big screen TV's -- for passengers and crewmembers who will be in port. They include the De Vere Grand Harbour, Holiday Inn Southampton, Chilworth Manor and Jurys Inn.

Additionally, passengers can wander over to Guildhall Square for a city-sponsored street party beginning at 10 a.m. (Yes, of course you can watch the proceedings on a giant screen.) Following the ceremony, visitors will be able to participate in loads of activities, including dancing, face-painting and more. There will also be live music and food vendors.

One other nice touch: Southampton is even encouraging everyone to dress in red, white and blue for the occasion.
