| Princess Cruises Return to Egypt |
(2:48 p.m. EDT) -- After months of political unrest in Egypt, Princess Cruises has announced it will reinstate its calls on the region, beginning May 15.
The change will affect 18 sailings on Star Princess, Dawn Princess, Ocean Princess and Pacific Princess, which will resume calls as originally scheduled on ports that include Alexandria, Port Said and Safaga.
Pacific Princess will sail 13 12-night "Holy Land" itineraries, while Star Princess will sail "Egypt and the Aegean" itineraries on May 8 and October 21. Ocean Princess will embark on an "Indian Ocean & the Middle East" voyage on April 29 and a "Mediterranean, India & Asia" itinerary on October 15. Finally, Dawn Princess will sail a world cruise from Sydney on May 25.
A statement from the line says those booked on the above sailings are currently being notified of the changes.
