Princess Bomb Threat

October 16, 2001
In a case of what can only be called “unfortunate timing” Princess’ Golden Princess received a bomb threat on Friday, October 5 that turned out to be a hoax by one of its own employees. The ship was at sea while on a westward crossing the Atlantic when the threat occurred. Security officers quickly began investigating the call -- which turned out to be made from a phone on Golden Princess. A suspect was quickly located and held, in isolation, until the ship arrived in Ft. Lauderdale. For obvious reasons, Princess Cruises is mum on the threat-makers’ identity -- gossip, naturally, is rampant -- but the staffer was immediately taken into custody and ushered off the ship.
