U.K. Wave Season Deals Are Here! Get Extra Value on Your Next Cruise
Wave Season Want a great deal on your next cruise holiday? Traditionally, "Wave Season," which takes place in the U.K. between late December and March, is the one time each year when all cruise lines and travel agents gear up for the coming cruise season with big sales. Typically, you'll find discounted (though not dirt-cheap) prices on sailings or extra perks, such as onboard credit, spa treatments and free upgrades.

2009 was tough for cruise lines because of the economy, but it was great for consumers, thanks to sales galore -- particularly during the 2009 Wave Season. Even though we expect cruise fares to creep back up this year, the lines are still pulling out all the stops for Wave Season 2010. Like last year, cruise lines didn't wait until Boxing Day to offer their traditional "best of the year" packages. Cunard, NCL and Ocean Village, among others, began offering discounts in mid-December.

To help you get the best value on a 2010 cruise, we have compiled a list of Wave promotions from some of the top cruise lines. No doubt, more will follow, so check back for updates. And, don't forget to check Cruise Critic's U.K. Deals section throughout the year for low prices and extra-value offers.

Editor's note: Don't confuse Wave Season deals -- which are typically extra-value promotions for spring, summer and fall cruises -- with last-minute bargains (deeply discounted departures in the next month or two, which we're also seeing).
