Royal Caribbean has canceled the October 14 sailing of Nordic Empress from Philadelphia to Bermuda following a heavy storm that hit the island Thursday night.
Nordic Empress was docked at Bermuda’s west end when the storm, which carried winds as high as 80 m.p.h., passed through, delaying ship’s departure an extra day.
Guests on the canceled sailing will receive a full refund, but guests on the impacted cruise also get a pretty generous compensation: a free cruise on any Royal Caribbean or Celebrity ship. The catch? The free cruise must be taken by November 30, 2001, but those who can’t make it by that date still receive a 50% discount on a future cruise. Guests who booked air through Royal Caribbean will also receive assistance with new flight arrangements.
A special help desk has been set up at 1-800-722-5960.
